Rachel Rosalen and Rafael Marchetti
Artists Marchetti’s and Rosalen’s started working together in 2007. Combining drawings of physical and/or virtual spaces that allude to architecture and net, together they developed interactive installations and hybrid spaces.
Rosalen and Marchetti had exhibitions and projects in renowned cultural centers such as Centre Pompidou (Paris), Plugin (Basel), Yokohama Museum of Art (Japan), Museum für Gegenwartskunst (Basel), Image Forum (Tokyo), Videoformes (Clermont-Ferrand), Kunstraum Walcheturm (Zurich), La Filature (Mulhouse), Palazzio Nuovo (Naples), Paço das Artes (São Paulo), VIDEOZONE IV – 4th International Video Art Biennial (Israel), Ars Electronica (Linz), File (São Paulo), 404 (Rosario), Viper Festival (Basel), ACM Multimedia (Singapur), Nuevas Geografías (México DF), Havana Biennial (Cuba), Break 2.3 (Ljubljiana), Accea (Armenia), Laboral (Asturias, Spain), Seville Biennial (Spain), Modern Art Museum of Medellin (Colombia), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany) and Whitespace Gallery (Atlanta, USA).
They have also been contemplated with awards like PAC New Media Prize (São Paulo, Secretaria da Cultura), Prog:me, Rio de Janeiro (2005), File (2005) and Sergio Motta Art and Technology Prize, São Paulo (2002 and 2007).
They were selected for artist in residence programs by The Japan Foundation/ Nanjo and Associates, Cyprès, Marseille/ UNESCO-Aschberg; Werkraum Warteck PP/ Warteck Fonds – Basel and Bain::Connective, Brussels.
